Today we were visited by Mount Palmer past pupil and Professional Aussie Rules All Star Aileen Gilroy. Aileen presented our team with their County medals and also gave us a really interesting talk on how she went from playing Cumann na mBunscol in our school to becoming one of the best players in ladies Aussie Rules. We all had so many questions for her and she was very kind to give us so much of her time today and answer them all. Listening to Aileen today we learned about how hard you have to work to get to the top of your sport. Aileen said how she loved playing sports in our school when she was here. James presented Aileen with one of our home grown Oak trees and then Aileen signed all our jerseys. We will be watching her in her Aussie Rules games when the season returns.
