The North Mayo Cross Country Primary School’s event was held in Belleek, on The 20th of September. We were training for two weeks in school. Then we held trials to see who would compete. We travelled to Belleek on the bus. We were all a little bit nervous.
The event was very competitive. Each race is divided into boys and girls and what class they are in. All the competitors from Mount Palmer ran very well. Three children from our school get to go through to the county final. Anna McDonnell who came 8th in the 5th and 6th class girl’s race, Emma Bergin who came 3rd in the 3rd and 4th class girl’s race and myself, Ruairí McDonnell, who came 1st in the 5th and 6th class boy’s race. The county finals will be held on the 27th of September in Belleek.
